Infections

You can be carrying some STIs without having any symptoms. These can lead to long term health problems, so it's important to make use of the sexual health services available for free on the NHS.

Emergency contraception (morning after pill) is available free of charge from local pharmacies for people aged 13 years and above.  Check with the pharmacy before you go - It will involve a confidential assessment with an accredited pharmacist to find the most appropriate form of emergency contraception.

Bridging contraception is a 3-month supply of a contraception pill to 'bridge the gap' while you seek advice and decide on a long-term method. Local pharmacies offer convenient access for patients and often no appointment is required.
