Veteran's Directory
Aberystwyth Veterans and Families Groups Neil Davies (Age Cymru Dyfed), Wayne Hurley (Adferiad) and Kelvin Jones organise and run Aberystwyth Veterans and Families Groups. A breakfast is held at Penparcau Hwb on the first Saturday of the month and weekly social group held in the community room in Tesco Superstore, Park Avenue every Wednesday between 5-7pm. Everyone is welcome.
Adferiad The CYP Sanctuary is an out of hours service that provides mental health advice and guidance to the young people of Ceredigion, in a supportive environment in the centre of Aberystwyth.
Advocacy West Wales Provides a range of Independent Advocacy Services - a voice when you need it most.
Age Cymru Dyfed Veterans Provides practical support to older veterans throughout Dyfed including access to the range of welfare services delivered by the charity but also, where appropriate, connecting to other charities and agencies who can assist older veterans.
Alabaré Provides a pathway of support for homeless Veterans that considers health, finances and employment. Homelessness is someone who lacks a secure place to live, or not responsibly be able to stay.
Blind Veterans UK Helps vision-impaired ex-Servicemen and women to rebuild their lives after sight loss. They provide rehabilitation, training, practical advice and emotional support to veterans regardless of how or when they lost their sight.
Change Step A veteran support program in Wales that aims to help veterans and their families tackle serious stress and mental health-related challenges.
Combat Stress Provides clinical treatment and support for veterans from the British Armed Forces, with a focus on those with complex mental health issues.

Fighting with Pride Supports the health and wellbeing of LGBT+Veterans, service personnel and their families – in particular those most impacted by the ban on LGBT+ personnel serving in the Armed Forces prior to January 2000.

Veterans’ Gateway A 24/7 first point of contact for help across housing, mental wellbeing, finances and more, by phone, chat, text and email. They can also refer you directly to their Referral Partners.
Veterans Legal Link (VLL) An Aberystwyth based organisation supporting UK Military Veterans and their families across Wales. It offers free legal advice and support, as well as signposting to peer mentors, mental health support and specialist advice services.
Veterans NHS Wales A self-referral specialist, priority service for individuals experiencing mental health difficulties related to their military service. They offer talking therapy and psychological therapy outdoors to all Veterans regardless of role within the armed forces not limited to combat roles.
Veterans UK Provides compensation, pension and welfare support to serving personnel and veterans and facilitate access to appropriate support from other government departments, local authorities, independent bodies and the charity sector.
West Wales Veterans Mental Health Forum Members include Veterans, Veteran champions, third sector organisations, local authority representatives including regional armed forces liaison officers, representatives from statutory services, as well as regional and national Veteran- specific organisations and charities.
