APPOINTMENTS
Sometimes the best person for you to get care from may not be a member of our clinical team. We will ask you questions about why you need an appointment, and sometimes will direct you to alternative care - this may be a pharmacy, optician, dentist, physiotherapist, psychologist or other local service.
To meet Welsh Assembly directives, and in response to patient comments we offer:
1. 'Same day appointments' These are limited and should be booked if you need to see / speak with a clinician that day. Although there is a choice of clinicians we cannot always guarantee the clinician requested.
2. 'Pre-booked appointments'. You may book routine appointments with a clinician of choice up to 5 weeks in advance. However note that clinicians are sometimes away, which will impact the number of appointments available.
3. We offer telephone consultations, either on the day or in advance.
Our appointments line is open from 8:00-18:30 Monday-Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please inform our receptionist as soon as possible. By cancelling your appointment, you make it available for another patient.
Please ring us if you are likely to be late so that we can try to accommodate you. If patients arrive late it can mean that the whole clinic runs very late. You may be asked to wait until the end of the clinic or to re-book.
The doctors and nurses all do their best to run to time, but they will sometimes run late. Please be patient if you are asked to wait.
TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONS
Patients do not need to see a doctor for all illnesses or enquiries - therefore we offer telephone consultations with all our clinicians. You will be given an approximate time when they will telephone you - but this may change if they have emergency to treat.
OUT OF HOURS
Should you need access to a doctor outside of surgery hours, please dial 111.
Home Visits
A Home Visit is provided when a patient who is house bound and unable to attend the surgery, or a resident in a care/nursing home are too unwell too attend the surgery.
If you require a home visit please ring before 11.00am and ensure you give the receptionist the reason for the request and make sure we have the correct address and contact details. A doctor may need to ring you back for more information.
Please be aware if we are informed of the Home Visit after 11:00am, it may not be possible to carry out the visit same day.
You are not able to request a specific doctor for a home visit as they are shared according to the workload that day.
Please note that Home Visits are very time consuming and in view of the large geographical area the practice covers, a doctor could see up to 6 patients in surgery in the time it takes to complete one home visit.
NURSE/HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT CLINICS

BLOOD TESTS
Note that blood tests are by appointment only. This is to prevent patients waiting for long periods in the surgery. Blood test appointments are available between 8:30am-2:30pm Monday - Friday.
